Overview
This short course provides an introduction to PRINCE2 to project management professionals who do not require certification.
Course Objectives
At the end of this short course delegates will be able to:

Understand the distinction between organisational project management (what an organisation needs to do to extract maximum value from investments in projects) from project management (what a project manager does during a project)

Recognize how successful governance and management of PRINCE2 projects is achieved

Understand PRINCE2 terminology

Describe the key features of PRINCE2, and the value each provides

Ensure that none of the critical project performance parameters are overlooked

Identify the individual stages of a project run under PRINCE2 and the governance considerations at each stage

Assess how best to use PRINCE2

Understand the key aspects in implementing PRINCE2

There are no prerequisites for this short course.
Course Content
The morning session provides an overview of PRINCE2:

Introduce PRINCE2 and its origins, and describe the value it brings to organisations.

Discuss the principles of project management, and provide an overview of the integrated elements of PRINCE2.

Show how PRINCE2 provides support to each of the three levels of the project management team – those governing the project, those managing it, and those responsible for delivering the products that the customer wants

Describe our experiences in assisting organisations to adopt PRINCE2, and traps to avoid.
The afternoon session provides a deeper insight into the elements of PRINCE2:

Discuss the key points of each of PRINCE2's themes or knowledge areas.

Describe how a project is scoped, planned, executed, monitored, controlled and closed using PRINCE2.

Consider the key roles in PRINCE2 and their responsibilities across the project lifecycle.
Exam
There is no exam associated with this briefing. People wanting a certification in PRINCE2 should consider our PRINCE2 Foundation course.
