Overview

Organisations understand the relationship between organisational maturity in portfolio, programme and project management and their ability to efficiently and effectively achieve change to their business as usual environment.  One of the first steps in moving off the bottom rung is to standardise approaches to portfolio, programme and project management by developing standard management methods.  Some organisations make the mistake of developing these methods from scratch, based on the opinions of their internal leaders in these areas.  However, there are a number of standard portfolio, programme and project management methods available which can provide a more robust basis for the organisation's approach. This briefing introduces these methods to delegates.

Course Objectives

At the end of this briefing delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the key features of standard portfolio, programme and project management methods
  • Understand the pros and cons of various methods
  • Describe what is required for an organisation to adopt, integrate and maintain one of these methods
